Architectural glass
The architectural strand of Steven’s work is what consumes him at present. Moving into architectural work away from the hot studio demands allow him not only to develop and drive the narrative strand of his work but also to work at scale. This is often produces work that is a conversation between the stained glass and the building itself. He has been living in a deconsecrated monastery in Tuscany for the last ten years, this has really shaped his understanding of how history, architecture, and light combined create works that have a living breathing experience. This excites and occupies him and continues to be something he wants to explore within his work.
