Production

The physical demand of running a hot glass studio for 40 years created a format and a discipline for Steven’s working life. From the beginning he wanted to make work that people could use and live with. This utilitarian approach felt important when other artistic works were out of reach for many. The nature of small handmade production he development meant there was always small variations in the output, which created variations within each piece using these methods. Within this category there is a mix of freeform handblown vessel and partially moulded works.  Mould work allowed the for greater production quantity, whilst keep the handmade aesthetic, allowing him to be able to produce work for multiple galleries and design shops for many year.
